About Us
Our Story & Our Mission
Martha Leider passed away on November 6, 2017 from Metastatic Breast Cancer. Her passion was nature and animals and her joy was kayaking and spending time with "her swans" in Island Park, NY. Nothing gave her more peace and happiness.
Martha's Kayak is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization with the goal of sharing Martha's joy in kayaking while fighting this insidious disease. As a not for profit we will work with cancer patients and survivors to ensure they experience kayaking and nature.
Martha's Kayak will provide weekend retreats to patients and survivors who complete an application or who are nominated by a loved one or friend for a kayaking experience.
Our goal is to become a national philanthropic organization working with local kayaking and cancer support organizations to provide kayaking and support services for those in treatment and for survivors.
